What’s the big idea for 2008? Renovate your web site.

When was the last time you looked hard at you web site, I mean really looked at it through the eyes of the user. Focusing on aesthetics alone isn’t just difficult it may be a dead end. Aesthetic trends change all the time. What’s in today is out tomorrow. Instead, focus on the user experience. Once you start looking at the end result experience, questions about aesthetics become less important.

There’s a number of great sites out there that focus on the user experience but one of my favourites is

Another big development I thnk we should keep in mind is how and what your site is being viewed on. What we’re seeing now as far as web interface is starting to step off the idea of the traditional web and on to consumer products. We have to stop thinking of he web as a purely desktop experience. The iPhone is the key to what’s coming down the web pipeline.
